Do I put the green plumb line at the point of the shoulders for lateral explanation?
Use the base of the foot, where you make the last click on the lateral posture exam.
 
However, the green line is used for a quick reference tool if necessary. Do not leave it on the screen when performing an exam. It is visually confusing with all those lines.
